ARLINGTON, VA – Democrats are accusing their Republican colleagues of using “mouse jigglers” and other workplace automation devices to give the impression that they are doing work when they are really not.
This comes days after Speaker of The House Mike Johnson sent the members home early this past Wednesday- two days earlier than the scheduled midterm recess. Suspicions quickly rose for the “Blue Party” concerning the work habits of their republican colleagues. “Something is odd,” explains Maxwell Frost, Democratic Representative of Florida’s 10th district. “I would see photos of Dave Mc Cormick at the zoo with his daughters, yet his Teams status would read ‘Available’”
Another Representative, Jasmine Crockett (D-TX-30), has also made unusual observations on behaviors of the GOP during the working hours of this recess.
“I’ll send a message to one of my republican colleagues on Teams. I can see they are available, as indicated by the “green check” symbol, however I will not hear from them for hours!”
This past year, democrats have also complained of the constant reliance on AI use with their republican counterparts. This recess is no different. “Their communication and writing is clearly being constructed by AI” complained Representative Chellie Pingree (D-ME), “it is full of hyper polished enthusiasm, suspiciously balanced language, and overall corporate filler!”
Republican House leadership originally augured for an early recess to allow its members to campaign in their districts ahead of the crucial upcoming November elections. Democrats, on the other hand, urged to stay in session to work on much needed AI legislation. They lost the fight.
